Roxas is an honest person who tends to wear his heart on his sleeve and isn't afraid to express what he's thinking1 or feeling even if he can waffle a bit on the quiet side2. He's someone who considers his relationships with others & especially his friends very important3 and an integral part of his (albeit false) life in Twilight Town4. He's the type of person who wants to be good an dependable: when he loses the Munny pouch & Trophy gemstone Roxas feels immense guilt and disappointment with himself; almost like an outsider. But he's loyal anyway and will go out on a limb to help those he cares about! When his friends think he ditched them to hang out with Seifer's gang for the day he takes it pretty hard, poor babbu :c
Roxas at this point can best be described as more of a reactor than an actor: it's only when strange things begin to happen in Twilight Town that he begins to question whether everything is as it seems. Most of the time he is being led along by others.5 6 Just because he's reactive doesn't make him any less of a strong person though! He can act subdued and unsure of his mysterious circumstances7 but he's empathetic8 and willing to do what's right when the cards are down; Roxas is brave at heart,9 10 and at his core an honest person.
He can be prone to doubting himself11 but that's more in part due to external circumstances beyond his control. He may not have displayed much self-confidence on Day One where he hesitated to speak up about the photo thief or face Seifer when confronted, but he has the capacity to grow and develop: by Day Six he was driven, determined, and no longer hesitated or tried to run from enemies that appear before him. He faced his trials head-on and shows his emotions freely, whatever they may be. By that point he's also much more outspoken and no longer pauses uncomfortably when making a decision.
1 Telling DiZ he hates him when confronting him in Sora's chamber after being insulted
2 Becoming withdrawn upon realizing he'd forgotten his promise to enter the STRUGGLE! tournament with Heyner
3 Calling out to them when Axel & DiZ begin to confuse him on whether the world he knows is real
4 He spends all his free time with them after all!
5 His friends dragging him to the manor to investigate
6 Namine telling him to come to the Manor where she'll explain everything
7 This is especially prevalent on Day One; most of the initial dialogue is done by Heyner, pence, and Olette
8 Understanding the scope of "You were never meant to exist" and how it should never be said to anyone, true or not
9 Choosing to join with Sora even if he knows it means the end of being "himself"
10 Catching the "Photo thief" to clear his & his friends' names
11 When no one else notices the strange events in town or when he falls off the town & no one remembers
